TENORMs is the new fracking euphemism for Technologically Enhanced Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material - billions of gallons of which is created by shale gas industrial processes - such as frack waste, fracking flowback, shale drill cuttings. And now, “frack rubbers” or as the prudish editors at Forbes delicately call them “frack socks” - prophylactic-like filters to keep the fracking flowback from polluting water.
Once used, they become Hot Radioactive Frack Rubbers. And end up in lakes and streams. Like the other sort of rubbers. . .
Behold, the new “King Kong” Size Frack Rubber:
Since the rubbers are straining radioactive material out of the frack flowback, the radioactive residue are TENORMs, not NORMS. Meaning they are too hot to dispose of in landfills. Unless of course the landfill is run by a crook. Or failing that, truck them all the way to Idafrackingho - where the local “survivalists” aren’t so choosy about babysitting frack filth for the next 1,000 years or so. Thanks Idaho. What we do without you ?

so I’ve been blogging about the frack pillow case looking sox (socks?) that filter radioactive fracking sand during fracking to keep the proppant silica dust/sand from going airborne and you speak of a smaller skinnier version of rubbers although U did call them socks…are they made out of plastic or rubber? SO now I learned of two mitigation devices ..
1) for flying frack sand
2) to filter flowback waste water
Please verify they are two different things as what your picture shows is narrrow verses what I have blogged about….http://barnettshalehell.wordpress.com/2014/02/23/nasty-radioactive-fracking-socks-need-especial-disposal/
