Some New York towns and counties are rolling out the red carpet to import frack flowback in from Fracksylvania. Here’s the latest interactive map of where that filth can be spread. As previously noted here, spreading frack waste on roads is illegal in most states, including Texas. But in New York, which has the best politicians that money can buy, the frackers sell it to the county and town road districts -as ‘de-icer’ and ‘dust suppressant’ so they can slop the greasy mess onto local roads for you to navigate. Over time, you’ll have a slimey build-up of radium 226, arsenic, barium, strontium 90, diesel fuel, drilling mud and who-knows-what in your ditches, in your streams, your groundwater, on your car, your truck, your cat, your blood cells. Things like that. All so that some fracker doesn’t have to truck tanker loads of frack filth to a disposal well in Ohio where they use it to induce frackquakes or landfill in Idafrackho where it can irradiate the potatoes. If it gets spread on your roads, and then encrusts your truck in PermaFilth, just consider it one small sacrifice to get the fracking gas to China, where god intended it to go.
Copy of the Riverkeeper report on where frack filth is already being dumped on New York roads is here.

This is a close up to give you an idea of how many roads could be coated in frack goo from Fracksylvania. Go to the new interactive map and see which roads the frack goo is coming to.
If your elected officials or town or county road supervisor :
1. Has signed a gas lease
2. Wants to sign a gas lease
3. Thinks that fracking is “good for China/ me”
4. All of the above
Then you can expect frack goo trucks to come lumbering down your road.
If that troubles you, then get some new elected officials. Or sue the ones you’ve got.

What part of stop calling Pennsylvania Fracksylvania -because some may find it offensive -is it that you do not understand?
The part about you telling me what to call it or not to call it. That part. If you don’t like it, change it, move to Idafrackho or get a sense of humor.
Tony Hedberg says
Well Dick, if you weren’t fracking the planet to death and then dumping your poison on our roads here in New York, maybe we wouldn’t call your state Fracksylvania. Oh wait…yes we would. Would you maybe prefer Coalsylvania or Oilsylvania?
From Karen Edelstein:
“[T]here’s nothing in the RiverKeeper FOIL documentation that indicates the brine that is being spread originates in PA. If you look at the documents, you’ll see that well site sources are never mentioned, only storage locations in NYS. This is both my impression, and the feeling of Kate Hudson at RiverKeeper, with whom I’ve been working on this issue. Kate has said that in the past, PADEP indicated that low-volume drilling brine had been shipped to NYS, however. “
