No Fracking Way

Broome County Frackbusters Show !

by Chip Northrup on January 23, 2014

Come find out the facts of the matter in Vestal on January 31st. Bring a skeptic and a Frack Dream Believer. Broome County is not just one of the parts of Upstate that has any shale gas potential, but it may be the only part of New York with any shale gas potential. Catch is that not all of Broome County is created equal, shale-wise. And the potential is effectively gone before you get to the county line. Chenango County ? Ask Norse. Chemung ? Sullivan ? Schoharie ? No fracking way. Delaware County ? Not unless you can hit the river with a rock. Tioga County ? Maybe with a Napalm Clusterfrack. . .

Videos from NYC Shale Mythbusters show here - where we explain why there’s more hot air in New York than shale gas. Will the Mythbusters be challenged by the frackers in Bingo ? Probably not. Check it out and you’ll understand why the gas bags have gone into hiding over this.

See you in Albany at the Senate forum on the 4th - where we will drive the final stake into the myth of New York shale gas.

Do we think we can drink the water and still frack? What?

I live in southern Broome, along the PA border. We need all NYers to stand with us to protect us from the industry, not only drilling but also the importing of waste and the other impacts from PA, although the road damage and some of the air and water impacts are already here and we can’t stop them. No sacrifice zone, even part of one county!

Come to the show and you will see why most of Broome County will not get fracked - regardless of what Cuomo, Obama, Shah, etc. do or do not do.

I’ll be there, Chip. Sorry that you won’t be, but I realize it is the wrong time of year for you to be up north. I’ve watched the videos from Cornell and know why most of Broome won’t get drilled. My point is that I and thousands of others live in the part of the county directly adjacent to PA drilling with no protection from our towns. It’s a scary place to be, knowing that, if the state clears it, we could be subject to wildcatters when the price is right.

Bring a fracker. We have done 3 shows and they have yet to stand up. After they see the presentations, they just slump down in their seats. EID video’d Cornell but never put it up.

Here’s why, WARNING: THESE VIDEOS WILL BURST YOUR FRACKING BUBBLE

I wonder if any local frackers will come. I am curious if one in particular will once again offer his startling “rebuttal” for the masses to take into consideration- always a great photo-op.

They have come to all of the presentations and sit there sinking into their seats. The only rebuttals we have gotten is from the odd fracking riff-raff and some 3rd string frak flaks - basically industry leftovers. The reason why as you will see is that we use industry data to methodically build our case; leaving the shale shills nothing substantive to rebut.

Nutshell: NYS was a hole lotta fracking shale hype from the git go. The industry never thought much of the potential, but paid the lobbyists and shills to tee it up anyway. Now they are trying to save face with a bit of carping from the sidelines.

The frack shills have been invited to explain themselves at the Senate forum, but they won’t show.
