Anadarko Petroleum Corporation is one of the world’s largest independent oil and gas production corporations. It is headquartered in The Woodlands, SPD Montgomery County, Texas. Anadarko had 25 percent working interest in the Macondo Prospect, which was operated by BP and its finances were affected by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
Anadarko now wants to frack Pennsylvania’s State parks to deliver a competitive and sustainable rate of return to shareholders.
These are state parks OWNED by people – real people, specifically the REAL PEOPLE OF PENNSYLVANIA.
Our State Parks are not cash cows to be exploited and destroyed for short term gains and in exchange for long term pains.
This will not be just one drill pad. It will be many drill pads. It will not be one pipeline. It will be many miles of pipelines. It will not be just one compressor station. It will be many compressor stations. It will turn our state parks into an industrial park.
Anadarko’s plan for the Clarence Moore tract of the Loyalsock State Forest. Every coin is a potential well pad.
Corbett has recently denied opening of state parks to fracking. If true, then why the preliminary “discussions”? Are they really preliminary?
Behind closed doors, the DCNR is in “discussions” with Anadarko Petroleum Corporations of Woodlands TX, to “develop” the Loyalsock State Forest and at the same time Anadarko is staking out drilling locations along the Old Loggers Path.
Appeals by public groups for information on the drilling plans and requests for hearings have been ignored.
DCNR says the issue is not open to discussion.

IMO, it’s already planned and will happen!! As for hearings…probably not, considering that most, if not all of the decisions made recently by DCNR were made my one man only, with no input or approval by anyone. Another Emporer without clothes, I think.
