The beginning of the end for the Constitution Pipeline?

by William Huston on August 9, 2012

WOW! Check this… all of your efforts to kill the improperly named “Constitution” Pipeline may be paying off…

This just in from Ann-Marie:

Today’s filing by FERC requires Williams / Cabot to study existing interstate gas pipelines. They must provide information within 30 days on un-subscribed capacity, costs to co-locate, and costs to upgrade existing pipelines to hold this proposed new capacity.

This is a HUGE win for us, and it’s a direct response to our map, comments, and letter from landowners.

Here is the info from FERC:
Docket(s): PF12-9-000
Filing Type: Request for Additional Information
Description: Letter requesting Constitution Pipeline Company, LLC to provide w/in 30 days the Data Request information to assist in FERC’s anlayiss of Constitution’s proposal under PF12-9.

This could be the beginning of the end for the Constitution pipeline, but the pressure needs to build.

Bill, Does this mean that even though Constitution Pipeline Company is the applicant, Cabot and Williams are required to furnish data?

Cris, my understanding that the Constitution Pipeline Company is a joint venture of both Cabot and Williams.

But I really don’t know the specifics.

Well done.

PUC pipelines and brain surgery are the two things I don’t know much about.

But at current prices, the need for a new line - in a brand new alignment/easement - might be a push.

So by all means necessary, keep pushin’

The Schoharie Valley and the surrounding areas are rich in historical and agricultural value. We do not need nor do we want this pipeline to scar the beauty of this county! Pipelines are just the beginning of the hydrofracking process. I encourage everyone to stay informed and continue the fight.
