The worst of Hurricane Sandy is just about over. A number of people have been asking, wondering about probably damage to drill pads, frack ponds etc. Over the next few days there will be photos of storm damage floating around the internet, a few may even go viral.
In the aftermath of last year’s storms – Irene and Lee – the photo below made the rounds.
THIS IS NOT A FLOODED DRILL PAD IN PENNSYLVANIA. IN FACT, IT’S NOT EVEN IN THE UNITED STATES. THIS PHOTO IS A FLOODED DRILL PAD IN PAKISTAN.
Why am I showing you this photo? SO YOU WON’T GO AND REPOST IT WITH OMGs when it does show up on facebook or elsewhere.
PLEASE VERIFY THE SOURCE before reposting or sharing ANY photos of storm damage. And properly identify where and when the photo was taken.
